Same-day appointments are available for urgent matters for all patients. New patients can typically be seen within the week, and fetal echocardiograms are scheduled within 72 hours.

How long will my child's appointment typically last?

The length of your child’s appointment will vary depending on the reason for the visit and any tests or procedures that may be necessary. Generally, you can expect the initial appointment to last about an hour.

What is your appointment cancellation policy? Is there a charge?

Communication occurs during appointments and over the phone.

What is the process for follow-up appointments and ongoing care?

Follow-up appointments are typically scheduled in the office after the visit. Alternatively, patients can call the office to schedule appointments. If they prefer a reminder, they will receive a call and/or email informing them that it’s time to schedule a follow-up.

What can I expect during my child's appointment with the pediatric cardiologist?

During the appointment, the pediatric cardiologist will review your child’s medical history, and perform a physical examination, an EKG, and an echocardiogram. If required, a holter or event monitor will be placed at the time of the visit. Additional diagnostic tests or procedures, if needed, will be referred to one of our affiliated hospitals for further testing.

How soon will we receive the results of any tests or procedures?

We strive to provide prompt results for all tests and procedures performed in our office. Our staff will communicate with you regarding the timing of the results and any follow-up needed. EKG and echocardiogram results are discussed on the same day of the appointment. Typically, the doctors receive the results of the Holter monitors one week after they’re turned in, and event monitors about two weeks after they are mailed back. If you don’t receive a call with the results, please give the office a call at (248) 335-8500 and a message will be left for the doctor to call you back with the results.

What if my child experiences a cardiac emergency outside of office hours?

In the event of a cardiac emergency, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room for immediate medical attention. Afterward, you can contact our office to inform us of the situation, and we will coordinate follow-up care as needed.

Do you offer telemedicine appointments for follow-up visits or consultations?
